Even when the streets are mostly empty of people, signs as to the existence of our race proliferate through the many visual clues that abound. Yellow is a happy, youthful, uplifting and exuberant colour and yet it is used in cities in an authoritarian way to warn, alert and even reprimand its inhabitants; it is daubed on roads and pavements to command compliance with a required type of behaviour. What corruption of this beautiful colour! This project is about the playful (sometimes rebellious) interaction between people, nature, and yellow lines of authority. (Happy smiley round yellow face).
