Mysteries - @alessandroiasevoli_photo
Every Holy Friday, for over four hundred years, the tradition of the Procession of the Sacred Groups of the Way of the Cross, the 'Mysteries', is renewed in Trapani. The procession, which winds its way along a two-kilometer route, involves thousands of citizens and tourists from all over the world.
The 'Mysteries' are twenty sculptural works, made of canvas, wood and glue, representing the stages of the Passion and Death of Jesus. They are kept all year round in the Church of the Purgatory, from which they come out at 2 p.m. every Holy Friday, to return, at the end of the Procession, on the morning of Holy Saturday.
