A moment in time at the Gafur Gulom metro (Tashkent, Uzbekistan)
Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan. Its metro opened in 1977 - the first metro in Central Asia. Many of the stations feature distinctive architecture, depicting aspects of Uzbekistan’s history.
This photo was taken at the Gafur Gulom station, named after the Uzbek poet. The station features decorative tiled murals, and turquoise granite columns. I was pleased with the variety of movement, as people arrived at, departed from, or waited in the station.
