Throughout my life, loneliness and melancholy have been a constant reminder of my fragility as a human being, a fragility which usually leads me to anxiety and depression caused by a deep sense of failure in personal relationships and professional endeavors.
Lately, as my mother passed away and my marriage seemed to follow in her footsteps, sadness has kept me awake at night, crying and browsing through some of my captures and my realization that this overwhelming sense of loneliness has always been embedded in most of my photography and, therefore, may be worth a collection of sorts…
Hence ALL IS LOST… which celebrates the mixing of photographic genres, techniques and presentations but, as its title suggests, is no celebration at all. ALL IS LOST… whether taken as a whole or absorbed through each individual take, stands as a sobering reminder that loneliness edging on hopelessness lurks any and everywhere, all the time, whether around or inside of me and that I may not be able to escape its grip...
