During my first trip to Lisbon, I came across these gentlemen playing cards outside on a warm summer day. As you can see in the picture, it was taken shortly after the pandemic period, when masks were still mandatory.

While scanning, a dust particle left its mark on the image, adding an extra layer of tension and separation to the composition. This detail subtly reflects the nature of the card game, while simultaneously echoing the social distancing of the pandemic era, immortalizing a fleeting moment within the photograph.
