When this City Station construction was finished in the mid-19th century, the station only had one platform, but the platform hall was some 200 meters long, and it was regarded as one of the biggest structures of this kind in Europe. In the late 19th century, when the government heavily invested in railway construction, the station was extended with the construction of five new platforms where, four of which were covered by a large roof and astonishing facades. The number of passenger platforms within the station grew to 13, and all were elevated.
When I was making this photo, I almost felt an unforgettable breath of memories from the past visible in between of geometrical patterns' and repeating lines leading into the moving subject of human presence accidently centered in the main part of the frame. Imperfections resulting from the slowly decaying structure or the view of loosely hanging wires from the rooftop of the building only intensify the impression of a perfect composition, where a deliberate reflection crowns the whole scene.
