Old Hong Kong - @benvenphoto
Back in the day, the streets of Hong Kong were awash every night in the faint glow of neon lights emanating from the sides of buildings, illuminating the streets below. Thousands of them, all directing you towards restaurants, mahjong parlors, and guesthouses. Today, however, much of that neon has been removed to make way for the new and shiny. I traveled to Hong Kong to see if I could find some vestige of the old days, and in Kowloon, not far from Victoria Harbour, I found a quiet intersection where neon still shines away like it did in the old days. This photo capturing the Hong Kong taxi driving through the neon-lit intersection is my homage to those days gone by. Hong Kong, March 2024.
