Palette:The range or variety of tonal colors used by a particular artist or in a particular picture.’As a streetphotographer I am very inspired by Impressionism, especially by Berthe Morisot who mainly painted women and children, both indoors and outdoors – citylife - in thoughtful compositions and bright colours. For the Palette series, I wandered the streets searching for color tones, shades, hues effect of light, color and reflection. The challenge for me is to capture the right moment of that combination. Impressionism and photography seem to be very similar at first sight. Both are snapshot reality. Attention is paid to light and reflections, just as they are captured in photos. In addition, the impressionists experiment with special perspectives and cropping the action. Techniques that can be traced back to photography. The focus on experiencing the moment (impression) the choice for streetlife, scenes, portraits - the attention for light effects and color- and what this as a whole does on the shape of changing effects of light and color. That’s what appeals to me so much about this art movement.
