Music accompanies me as I walk the streets: a rhythm that sharpens my attention to light, shadow, and the unexpected. Listening as I move through the city helps me focus more deeply on what is in front of me; it heightens awareness.

The connection to specific songs often emerges later, when I look at the images I have made. Certain photographs seem to “sound” like particular pieces of music. Into the Mystic reflects a sense of surrender to what lies beyond the visible; Englishman in New York speaks to individuality; Climbing Up the Walls suggests tension and unease; The Ghost of Tom Joad evokes endurance and empathy; and Angel by the Wings offers a moment of grace.
