In this series, I explore the interplay of light and shadow in Cologne. The city does not appear as a tourist postcard image, but rather as a stage for contrasts, silhouettes, and fleeting encounters. People emerge like characters in a film noir – sometimes isolated, sometimes part of the urban geometry.
The images shift between abstraction and reality. Architecture, street structures, and shadowed surfaces create a backdrop where the everyday becomes mysterious and surreal.
With Cologne Noir, I aim to reveal how light not only illuminates but also conceals – and how shadows tell the city’s hidden stories.
