Exploring Berlin was a profound journey through history, an experience that resonated deeply with me as a photographer.
From the stark, poignant remnants of the Berlin Wall to the solemn silence of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, each location was a powerful testament to the city's complex and somber past.
Contrast this with the artistic audacity on display at the Helmut Newton Museum and the compelling narratives at Fotografiska, and the sheer diversity of the city becomes apparent.
This was not the polished narrative I had encountered in West Germany; this was a place of layered stories, of beautiful contradictions.
To photograph Berlin is to engage with its soul-to capture not just its architectural lines, but its resilience, its art, and its unapologetic authenticity.
It's a city that challenges you to see beyond the surface, leaving you with an indelible sense of its weight and its enduring spirit.
