The Poetry of First Light is a time-based photographic study exploring how first light interacts with urban landscapes. Captured during the golden hour of May 2024, this series documents the shifting interplay of light and shadow as dawn reshapes the skyline. Each photograph from the same vantage point reveals how a fixed perspective can yield infinite variations as light sculpts the city in unpredictable ways.

This series is not about the skyline itself but about light as the true subject. Though taken from the same place, each image presents a different composition, reinforcing how light, not the subject, defines the photograph. This approach challenges the notion of a cityscape as fixed. Instead, it presents urban environments as fluid, shaped by light and time.

To expand this concept, I will photograph additional skylines across the U.S. and internationally, not to compare cities but to emphasize that despite vastly different locations, the subject remains unchanged: the light itself. This series highlights that light, not the skyline, is the defining force in photographic composition.
