Médaille d'argent dans la catégorie « Reflets (Eau, Miroir...) »
I often photograph people in the position of standing or sitting; framed as portraits; not too much motion; sitting on a chair in a café, a restaurant, on a bus, a train. Places of détente and reflection; where social codes are less compelling, and minds can relax and may focus on what was or might come. A presence which accepts thoughts from the past and the future; a timelessness in which one may settle down, away from do’s and don’ts.
Occupied in a small activity, concentrated on a coffee or lost in a daydream, minds shine and show another person than the same one I saw entering that café or bus. These simple, intimate and unguarded moments guide me to one’s personal realm of authenticity; precious, fleeting moments of a fragile beauty to fix and frame.
