Tultepec, State of Mexico, is considered the capital of fireworks in Mexico. Every March 8th, the town's patron saint, San Juan de Dios, is celebrated. The artisans spend months making the bulls. First, they make the structure out of metal, wood and reeds. After, they cover the structure with paper and glue, and finally, they decorate each bull artistically with paint.
Before the burning of the bulls, a parade takes place, which begins in the afternoon, where thousands of people gather around the streets to see the beautiful work and decoration that each group of artisans has done on their bull.
The parade ends when night covers the sky. The bulls and their craftsmen line up waiting for their turn to: get into action, create magic, light up the sky with their multicolored lights that move around in an errant way charging at the people, some people run away, others go to the confrontation and chase the bull to dance to the rhythm of the lights, the event ends at dawn when more than 300 bulls have been burned. Almost all of the bulls survive but some only their skeleton remains, waiting to be reborn the next year.
