Everything is in its place, everyone lives their daily lives in the Herat market, on an ordinary day. Some people sell sorghum brooms, some drive their yellow Tuc Tucs, some stroll, and then there's a child, working, sitting on the ground at the side of the road, polishing someone's slippers and smiling, while a woman in her blue burqa crosses the street. This simple, ordinary scene perfectly captures street life, and capturing it on film is, for me, the essence of street photography.
